SIF Congratulates Sir James for Aldabra's speech |23 April 2015

The Seychelles Islands Foundation through is chief executive Dr Frauke Fleischer-Dogley has thanked founding President James R. Mancham for spearheading the case of Aldabra recently.

In a letter sent to the office of Mr Mancham on Tuesday, Mrs Fleischer-Dogley writes that the Seychelles Islands Foundation is delighted to learn that founding President Sir James Mancham has been spearheading the cause of Aldabra recently on the National Geographic Explorer Orion. I am certain that his lecture has enlightened all listeners and enriched the programme of the cruise. I am a strong believer that it always makes a difference to learn of historic events by contemporary witnesses!

In a statement issued yesterday morning from the National Geographic Orion, which is anchored off Curieuse Island at this time, Sir James said his address was so well received that he was invited to deliver a second address yesterday afternoon as the ship was to leave Curieuse for La Digue.

Sir James said Aldabra and the other outlying islands constitute an important dimension of the overall Seychelles archipelago and that special attention must be given in consideration of all future development which should take into account the Seychelles First policy in the national interest and that he very much appreciated the letter of support and encouragement from Dr Frauke Fleischer-Dogley.
