Athletics - Special events series end with four new records set |27 February 2015

The special events series have been ongoing over the last few weeks and in the third and final series, four new records have been set.

The record setters in Saturday’s final was Dyland Sicobo, who has been making a habit of smashing records lately and youth athlete, Sharry Dodin.

Sicobo’s records actually came from the same event, which was the 60m sprint final. Here, his winning time of 6.92 seconds erased both the junior record of 6.96 – which he set earlier during the special events one – and the senior record of 6.93.

Sharry Dodin – who finished fourth in the same race – had reason to celebrate after all, as his time of 7.20 was a new youth record. The previous record time was 8.18.

Dodin added his name to another record, this time it was in the 150m final, where his fourth place finish with a time of 16.89 earned him the new record as he erased the previous youth record of 16.95.
