Namibian high commissioner to Seychelles bids farewell |15 October 2014
The Namibian high commissioner to Seychelles, Marten N. Kapewasha, paid a farewell call on President James Michel yesterday at State House.
Mr Kapewasha has been serving a four-year mandate as a non-resident ambassador to Seychelles. He is based in Pretoria, South Africa.
Speaking to the press, Mr Kapewasha said that his time as high commissioner of Namibia to Seychelles has been very good and that he has worked towards promoting bilateral relations between the two countries which he described as being very fruitful.
“We cooperated mostly in areas of economy, bilateral relations and we have done away with the need for visas so our peoples do not need visas to enter either Namibia or Seychelles,” he said.
Ambasador Kapewasha said both countries are now working on areas of avoidance of double taxation which he said will be signed very soon.
He also said tourism is another area that his country is looking into in the hope of bringing both peoples to visit each other’s countries.
