Ifad delegation calls on Minister Sinon |22 October 2013
The Minister for Natural Resources, Peter Sinon, and key personnel from his ministry have met a high level delegation from the International Fund for Agricultural Development (Ifad), currently in Seychelles on a two-pronged mission.
It is Seychellois Perin St Ange who is heading the three-strong delegation which include Nadine Gbossa and Ambrosio Barros, who are Ifad’s new Kenya-based country director and task manager for Seychelles.
The mission’s aims are twofold: to introduce both Ms Gbossa and Mr Ambrosio, who are the new officials to be working alongside Seychelles following restructuring within the Ifad. They will work with the project implementation unit within the Ministry of Natural Resources on the implementation of the Ifad’s CLISSA project for Seychelles which was launched in July this year.
Together with local technicians, the mission will also prepare a forthcoming technical workshop aimed at equipping the local technical implementation team with the knowledge of the Ifad requirements and procedures to ensure the smooth and efficient running of the project.
The workshop is scheduled to take place from November 25 to 27.
Other than meeting Minister Sinon yesterday morning, Mr St Ange and his delegation were also scheduled to meet Finance, Trade and Investment Minister Pierre Laporte in the afternoon.
During their mission here, the delegation will also have meetings with the technical personnel who will be involved with the implementation of the project.
Before leaving the country this afternoon, they will have an audience with officials of the Ministry of Environment & Energy and the Seychelles FAO Correspondent Antoine Marie Moustache.
