Seychelles exhibits at the Luxury Travel Expo 2011 in Las Vegas, USA |17 December 2011

The Seychelles delegation at this important tourism exhibition comprised the Mason’s Travel’s sales USA representative, Kay Jackson; 7°South’s USA representative, Astrid Graf; Select Seychelles USA representative, Nigel Bramich and the managing director of Select Seychelles, Freddy Karkaria.

The Luxury Travel Expo is the industry’s largest gathering of luxury travel professionals in North America for the North American travel and tourism industry. 

The event, held at The Mandalay Bay Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas Boulevard, in the State of Nevada, took place from December 7-8.

Mr Germain said that Seychelles’ participation at the Luxury Travel Expo is part of the STB focus and action plan for an increased market share from the Americas in future.

“We are working with our partners as much as possible to offer the North American travelers different holiday package options to visit Seychelles such as the “Dubai / Seychelles” and “Africa / Seychelles” holiday package combinations,” he said.

Emirates Airlines, Qatar Airways, South African Airways and Etihad are all flying directly to various cities in North America and Canada from Dubai, Doha, Johannesburg and Abu Dhabi respectively.

During the expo, Mr Germain had meetings with the airlines and briefed them on the STB’s action plan for the Americas.
The exhibition is said to have been very well attended by travel professionals from different cities of the USA such as San Diego and Los Angeles, amongst others.

The Seychelles delegation has returned home this week, satisfied and very optimistic that a visitor arrival from North America has the potential to grow in future at a faster pace than before.
