8th Indian Ocean Island Games-More partners join Games’ list |28 June 2011
Yesterday, Community Development, Youth and Sports minister Vincent Meriton collected a total sum of R391,500 from five new partners.
They are Round Table Seychelles (R350,000), Samlo and Son Seychelles (R25,000), Sustainability for Seychelles (R10,000), Joseph Sinon and Seychellois Comedians (R5,000) and Lina Bonnelame (R1,500).
During the ceremony, which took place at the Games’ secretariat at Oceangate House in the presence of Games Commissioner Eric Arnephie, Mr Meriton told the partners that their contributions will help the country maintain its reputation as the best organisers of the four-year Games and also break the record for best Games organised.
He once again reassured them that their contributions will be wisely spent.
The minister took the opportunity to urged other organisations to contribute towards the event which, he said, promotes youth development, stability and fair play.
