Second in yesterday’s fourth race from Beau Vallon to Anse Lazio on Praslin in 3 hours 13 minutes 28 seconds (3h13:28) – 5:14 slower than race winner Fondéole Allianz, skippered by young Frenchman François Gabart and who took 3h08:14 to reach the finish line.

Third behind Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte was the Tercognita boat skippered by Romain Attanasio in 3h19:00.

The remaining four places were occupied by Jérémie Beyou’s Hyundai (3h19:03), Samantha Davies’ & Servane Escoffier’s Heineken (3h28:20), Loïck Peyron’s Maia (3h29:40) and Armel Le Cléac’h’s Bruno Aubriet Bâtiment (3h33:20).

Desjoyeaux and his crew on the Champagne Nicolas Feuillatte boat remain in the lead in the standings with seven points and are on course to reclaim the title they lost to Hyundai last year.

Hyundai trail in second place with 12 points – one less than the Fondéole Allianz boat, who is occupying third place with 13 points.

Bruno Aubriet Bâtiment and Maia are locked on 19 points and are occupying fourth and fifth places, while Tercognita is sixth with 20 and the all-female team of Heineken is seventh with 22.

In today’s fifth race, the seven boats will sail from Anse Lazio to Baie Ste Anne and tomorrow they will head to La Digue.

The seventh race on Friday May 27 is from La Digue to Ile Chauve Souris and to conclude the seven days of sailing the teams will race from Praslin to the Eden Island and they have to reach the finish line before 1pm on Saturday May 28.
