STA principal meets sponsor Micros Fidelio |22 November 2010

Micros Fidelio is a software company that supplies the hotel industry with customised solutions.

Mr Joubert met the managing director of Micros Fidelio, Thomas Hesse, and they followed up on the agreement signed between the company and the STA last year.

According to the agreement, Micros Fidelio will help the academy with software, hardware and IT training on a sponsorship basis for two years.

So far the STA has received all hardware and software for the two point of sales systems that have already been included in its new moveable asset inventory.

The basic front office, reservations and hotel reception programme has also been given, including the hardware terminals used for the bar and kitchen training.

Next year, Micros Fidelio will send a trainer to upgrade the system at the STA, as well as to sponsor training for one IT lecturer and one IT technician.

The company will also donate and instal a widescreen LCD with internet access in the students’ library for STA management and academic staff so they can receive important information, as in all the hotel schools in Europe and Asia.

In all this technical help, the STA will be supported by SPACE 95 technicians, since this is the company representing Micros Fidelio locally. SPACE 95 will be on call for the STA free of charge.
