Football: Barclays league division one-Dynamo stun La Passe, St Michel draw, Anse Reunion win |26 April 2010

On Saturday, leaders St Michel shared the points in a goalless draw with St Louis Suns and Anse Reunion continued their good run with a 2-1 victory over LightStars on La Digue.

Dynamo v La Passe

La Passe had got off to a good start as they opened the scoring in the ninth minute as Melvin Uranie beat goalie Jules Monnaie to make it 1-0.

However, Dynamo fought back as they did against St Louis Suns the weekend before.  Evans Télémaque levelled matters in the 43rd minute for a 1-1 half-time score.

Dynamo took the lead in the 54th minute as Steven Henriette fired past goalie Vincent Euphrasie for a 2-1 lead.
La Passe raised the tempo of the game and on the hour, Malagasy Bruno Saindini found himself in acres of space but he failed to hit the target.

Two minutes later on a swift counter-attack, Télémaque released Darrel Damoo but he handled the ball when in a good scoring position.

La Passe equalised in the 64th minute as Malagasy Asman Abdou weaved his way past a couple of defenders to rifle past Monnaie (2-2).

La Passe had numerous chances to take the lead such as in the 69th minute when young substitute Stan Malcouzane laid the ball on a plate to Saindini who blazed over the crossbar.

Six minutes later, Abdou set up Malcouzane but he surprisingly miscued when it looked easier to score.
In the 79th minute, Dynamo’s Damoo raced through but could not hit the target.

Damoo made amends in the 86th minute as Télémaque pounced on Euphrasie’s mistake as he threw the ball to him. Télémaque centred and Euphrasie again missed the ball and Damoo headed into an empty net for a 3-2 advantage.

On the stroke of full-time, Damien Tamboo crossed to Malagasy Asman Todisoa whose header hit a post with Euphrasie well beaten.

Deep in injury time, La Passe went close as Abdou centred in the penalty area and Verna Rose played the ball to Rick Bibi whose shot in a crowded penalty area was turned into corner by Monnaie.

Dynamo though had done enough to claim their second league win and La Passe suffered their second league defeat.

St Michel v St Louis Suns

St Michel and St Louis Suns played a frustrating goalless draw at Stad Linite in front of a decent crowd.
St Michel were missing some key players through injury but had the upper-hand in the early exchanges though goal-scoring chances were few and far between.

Skipper for the day Allen Larue went close in the 21st minute with a free-kick but his former Red Star teammate, goalie Joel Lesperance, produced a good save to deny him.

St Louis Suns did a good job of closing down St Michel and it did not help their rhythm.
In first half-time injury time, Gervais Waye-Hive centred to Nelson Laurence whose near post effort flew wide.

St Louis Suns had gained in confidence and were the better side in the second half as Eddie Bistoé and Brian Dorby dominated midfield, stopping St Michel from developing their play.

St Louis Suns even had a great chance to score as Trevor Poiret burst through in the 49th minute but goalie Nelson Sopha stopped him in his stride.

Four minutes later, Ryan Antat muscled his way to shoot at Sopha who saved easily.
In the 62nd minute, Poiret again threatened but it required a great recovery tackle by Godfrey Denis to stop him.

In the 67th minute, St Michel made a double substitution as they brought on not fully fit Alex Nibourette and Leeroy Corallie to bolster their attack, but still St Louis Suns stood resolute with Jonathan Bibi and David Dorby marshalling the defence.  They were well supported by Damien Maria and Serge Asba who blocked St Michel from putting in crosses.
In the 72nd minute, Malagasy Nestor drove a fierce free-kick which whizzed inches past Lesperance’s post.

The game ended in a draw in coach Vojo’s farewell match with St Louis Suns and he must have been pleased with the team’s commitment.  They only lacked a decent striker to trouble St Michel whose build-up was at times too slow.

Anse Reunion v LightStars

Anse Reunion extended their unbeaten to five matches as they came from behind to beat LightStars 2-1 on La Digue.
LightStars had taken the lead through Malagasy Mario Ravo in the first half.

However, Anse Reunion bounced back in the second as Malagasy Jean Del’Or Tsaralaza levelled matters at 1-1.
Former La Passe striker Ahmed Adrienne gave his team all three points with his first goal for a 2-1 win.
