They were accompanied by French maître fromager Gérard Poulard, who ensured the hotel was able to display an interesting choice of excellent French cheeses.

Hotel guests and Seychelles residents were treated to an evening with a difference when they were greeted on arrival at the hotel’s restaurant by Mr Mabileau with a glass of the Beaujolais before Mr Poulard gave them a rundown on the different cheeses.

This event has become an annual affair for Le Méridien Barbarons hotel to celebrate the arrival of the new Beaujolais.
“We are an international hotel chain and we have international visitors coming from everywhere. We need to continue to be innovative, and in so doing we’re ensuring that we remain the only resort with a difference,” said Mr Delplace.

Alain St Ange, Seychelles’ director of tourism marketing, welcomed the evening and said such events help to reposition the destination in the marketplace.

“It is encouraging to see our trade partners working so hard for Seychelles, and Le Méridien Barbarons must be congratulated for its innovation in organising such a different event for our visitors and for residents of Seychelles,” he said.
