Escaped prisoner arrested |17 November 2009

Acting on information, the police arrested Alcindor after a standoff at a house in Vacoa Village, Mare Anglaise.
Alcindor had been described by police as dangerous and was armed with a knife when arrested. He is wanted for questioning in relation to a number of serious crimes.

This arrest is the first for a new operational unit that has been set up to target escaped and wanted criminals.
Meanwhile the unit is continuing its work targeting a number of other criminals who are wanted for questioning.
