The Creole Festival in pictures |31 October 2009
This was in a ceremony attended by Vice-President Joseph Belmont that took place along Latanier Road opposite the International Conference Centre (ICCS).
Also present were other cabinet ministers, the mayor of Victoria Marie-Antoinette Alexis, members of the National Assembly, members of the diplomatic corps and high-ranking government officials.
Since then, guests have been able to enjoy a week of traditional forms of entertainment and food, view cultural exhibitions and take part in, or watch, dance competitions as our pictures show.
There have also been more serious events like talks on research done on the Creole culture as well as debates and quizzes.
Last night a fashion show took place at Beau Vallon.
The festival closes today with more dance performances, for example at the ICCS and in the districts.
