President has investment talks with Qatari ruler |03 December 2008
The President took the opportunity to discuss matters of mutual interest while he was in Doha to attend the United Nations Conference on Financing for Development.
The conference, which ended yesterday, has been debating ways of improving financing options for developing countries. Several important financing institutions have been taking part, including key regional partners such as the African Development Bank.
The Seychellois delegation has continued to stress the need for innovative financing solutions for small island states and middle-income countries, as they are often marginalised in current financing systems.
In the talks between President Michel and the Amir, they both noted the excellent relations between the two countries.
The President also congratulated the Amir on his leadership during the conference, which comes at a very important time for developing countries.
