Judo: Federation Open tournament-Laurencine surprises opponents

Marcus Laurencine (on top) is the winner of the -73kg divisionHeld at the Omni-sports Gym, the tournament was dominated by judokas from Praslin.
Laurencine, 15, defeated more experienced judokas to win the -73kg division ahead of Leslie Philoé (runner-up) and Robert Hollanda (third).

Experienced Francis Labrosse took first place in the -60kg category in front of youngsters Benfica Young and Dario Larue.
Benfica’s twin brother Bendolph won the -66kg division ahead of Jerry Boniface.

Naddy Jeanne had only Daniel Athanase as opponent in the -81kg category, which he won.
In the junior -55kg class, Daniel Laurence dominated Carlos Labiche. Curtis Gabriel was ranked first in the junior -66kg division, relegating Marcel Nasibou and Jude Commettant to second and third places
The boy minine -38kg class was won by Emmanuel Jacques ahead of Lorenzo Commettant.

With no opponent in the -100kg category, Praslinois Dominic Dugasse only competed in the open category, which he won. Second and third places were filled by Leslie Philoé and Naddy Jeanne respectively.
