New daily newspaper hits the stands |19 November 2007
The first edition of The Rising Sun daily newspaper, a special edition comprising 24 full colour pages, was launched on Friday last week and was available for free. As from Saturday, the newspaper has been carrying its normal 12 pages, -- 4 colour and 8 black and white -- and for a whole week will be available for free as part of a promotional campaign.
According to the newspaper’s editor, Marie-Antoinette Laurence, The Rising Sun is “a non-political newspaper with latest and accurate news promoting responsible and serious journalism”.
Besides current news, the newspaper also carries business news and health news with coffee breaks and daily horoscopes, entertainment, classified adverts and other human interest stories.
The Rising Sun newspaper is available in most shops and according to its editor, home delivery on weekends is also being considered. The newspaper’s normal selling price is R4.
