Inauguration of new Baie Ste Anne School

The school was inaugurated by President James Michel on June 1, Children’s Day, as part of activities to mark the 30th Anniversary of Liberation Day (June 5) and the 14th Anniversary of National Day (June 18).

 

The school is situated on the reclaimed Eve Island, adjacent to the district of Baie Ste Anne, and has cost SR22 million, funded by OPEC and the Seychelles Government.

 

The inauguration ceremony was attended by Designated Minister Danny Faure; Education Minister Bernard Shamlaye; Community Development & Youth Minister Vincent Meriton; Employment & Social Affairs Minister Marie Pierre Lloyd; top government officials; the chargé d’affaires of the Sovereign Order of Malta in Seychelles, Mrs Alexandra Azais; Roman Catholic Bishop Denis Wiehe; representatives of the Baie Ste Anne constituency; parents and residents of the district.
