After cutting the tape to mark the event, the commissioner handed over the building’s keys to Sub-inspector Ahmed Emmanuel who will be the officer in charge at station.
Commissioner Waye-Hive said that the station was among the first to be modernized, and said that the police force experienced severe constraints during the time it was closed, but also said that it will now go a long way towards helping to curb crimes not only in Beau Vallon but also in the neighbouring districts.
He said it will also serve as a pilot in the delivery of community policing.
Calling on all citizens to demonstrate respect for the law, Commissioner Waye-Hive underscored the value of discipline and said that all victims of crimes should be treated with dignity, not only where women and children are involved.
