Seychelles Polytechnic Open Day-Secondary students get the feel of Polytechnic experience |03 August 2006
The students, who will soon be deciding upon what to do after ending secondary five, had the chance to visit the different specialist rooms at the Polytechnic and see what the different programme areas have to offer.
Through exhibitions and by witnessing classes being run and meeting students as well as teachers, the students got a better idea of what the Polytechnic is all about.
While welcoming the students to the Open Day, Polytechnic director, Audrey Nanon, said that the entry criteria for the different courses may seem high because the school wants to attract students who have the desire to work hard.
Mrs Nanon said that this should not be a deterrent.
Noting that the Polytechnic is not only about studies, Mrs Nanon said the school believes in moulding right, balanced individuals who have interests in developing their abilities in other extra curricular activities.
