Silhouette school children visit Mahe

The P3 to P6 students were accompanied by two teachers, Magda Rose and Milano Bibi.

The visit started with a stop at the meteorological station and the Agro Industry at Pointe Larue on a Friday March 10. On the following day they toured Victoria, where they had the opportunity to know more about the historical sites there. On the following Monday, the last day of their visit to Mahe, the Silhouette students were treated to a tour of the Botanical Gardens. There, they learned more about the various endemic palms and other plants of Seychelles.

But the Silhouette students were more excited to see the giant model of the gorilla, King Kong, at the gardens.

According to Miss Rose, the visit was an opportunity for the students to familiarise themselves with some aspects of the history of Seychelles, which is also part of the school curriculum.

Miss Rose had words of appreciation for the Silhouette school Parent and Teachers Association (PTA), Ministry of Education and Youth, National Sports Council (NSC) and the parents, without whose help, she said, their trip would not have been possible.
