New U.S. visa application procedure |05 January 2006

A press release from the section says that interviews will be scheduled for applicants on the same day between 9.30 a.m. and 12.30 p.m.

“Applicants using the electronic format of DS-156, the visa application form, will be given priority for their interviews,” it says, adding that those using the paper version of DS-156 may have to face a longer wait for an interview.

The embassy has therefore strongly suggested that all applicants take advantage of the electronic version, which must be printed and submitted with all supporting documents.

The electronic visa form, DS-156, can be downloaded from the website: http://evisaforms.state.gov/default.htm.
