Tennis: 2nd President National Open Junior Championship-Kanté, Rose get two wins apiece |05 September 2005

Kanté, boys’ U15 and U18 winner 

Markhous Kanté won two finals, beating Stefan Romain, winner of last year’s boys' U15 category, in both the U15 and U18 finals. Kanté won the U15 final 2-0 (6-2 7-5) and the U18 2-0 (7-6 6-4).

Rose, boys’ U8 and U10 winner 

Like Kanté, Diguois Johannes Rose also collected two victories in the boys’ U8 and U10 finals, beating Raghav Naidu 2-0 (15-4 15-4) and Sharif Vital 2-0 (15-8 15-12) respectively.

Ste Ange, girls’ U8 winner Christy Delpeche won the girls’ U10 title

The girls’ U8 title went to Diguois Sophie Ste Ange with a 2-0 (15-7 16-14) win over Puja Raghavi, while Myra Monnaie of La Digue lost 0-2 (13-15 13-25) to Christy Delpeche in the girls’ U10 final.

Morel, girls’ U12 winner

Nathanielle Morel dethroned last year’s girls’ U12 champion Raghavi Naidu with a 2-1 (6-2 4-6 6-1) victory.

Joubert, girls’ U15 winner Clyvie Delpeche has retained her girls U18 title

Sharrifa Joubert replaced Chloé Romain as the girls’ U15 winner by beating Gloria Lauro 2-0 (7-5 6-3), but in the girls U18 final, Joubert could not stop Clyvie Delpeche from retaining her U18 title, losing 0-2 (4-6 3-6).

Kevin Romain, the boys’ U12 winner

Kevin Romain, Stefan’s younger brother, won the boys’ U12 final 2-0 (6-3 6-3) against Colin Bibi.
