Honda voted most reliable car for second year running |21 July 2005

Three Honda car models took the first three places in the Auto Express reliability report, compiled from the responses of more than 50,000 readers.

The Honda S2000, Honda Jazz and Honda Accord have swept the podium in this year’s Auto Express Driver Power Awards – the most influential survey of reliability and satisfaction in the UK.

Thrilled at seeing the results, Stephen Faure, Business Development Manager at the local Honda dealer, EHW (Seychelles) Ltd, says the huge achievement by Honda based on feedback from tens of thousands of respondents is “exceptional by any standard."

Mr Faure who is just back from attending the Honda Distributors Conference for Africa and Middle East markets held in Tokyo, Japan adds that these "are independent, owner-based surveys and they simply reinforce what everyone inside Honda knows: that the cars are designed and manufactured to an extremely high standard.”

The Honda Accord leapt eight positions up the chart from 2004, taking third position overall in the 2005 survey. Drivers particularly rated its reliability and build quality. 

With superb body control and fine composure over bumps, combined with slick steering, the Accord offers class-leading ride and refinement. Already quite popular in Seychelles, the Accord is fast establishing itself as the vehicle of choice among top executives locally.

Last year’s overall winner and second placed this year, the Honda Jazz was voted the most practical car in the survey, scoring 96.94%.

Another first place for the Jazz in this year’s survey was that of ease of driving.  Respondents were asked to consider all driving conditions and traffic situations. Scoring 93.30% in this category, all owners of Honda Jazz agree – “this is one supermini that’s simplicity in itself”.

Not only is it this year’s overall winner, the Honda S2000 also scored an amazing 97.23% in the reliability stakes. Owners of the two seater convertible were asked to give a top score for reliability if their car was faultless, or to mark it down if they had to make unscheduled trips to the dealer. Some 77% of owners have experienced no defects with their S2000’s. What’s more, 85% of S2000 drivers said they would definitely buy another and an amazing 97% said it lived up to expectations.
