Red Cross urges more Seychellois to make blood donation a regular commitment
The Red Cross Society of Seychelles has renewed its call for more Seychellois to donate blood regularly and to treat blood donation as a personal commitment to their community and country.
The organisation says that while the need for blood is rising – especially during busy periods such as the festive season – the number of people coming forward remains far too low. Health coordinator of Red Cross Society of Seychelles (RCSS), Karine Ernesta, explained that despite repeated public appeals, the response is not matching expectations. “There have not been as many people who have come forward, as we would have expected,” she said.
