Electoral Commission invites eligible travellers to register for special voting station

The Electoral Commission of Seychelles has said that registered voters who will be travelling out of the country during the 2025 Presidential and National Assembly Elections scheduled for September 25, 26 and 27, will be eligible to vote at a special station set up specifically for this purpose on Thursday September 25, 2025.

Eligible voters are required to register in advance by visiting the Electoral Commission Office at Mont Fleuri by Monday August 11, 2025, between 9am and 4pm. This special arrangement is applicable to voters who will be abroad for any of the following reasons namely medical treatment, overseas scholarships, official duties approved by the government of Seychelles and overseas official missions on behalf of their place of employment.

“We are urging all registered voters within this category to come forward and register in advance so that they make the most of this opportunity to exercise their democratic right to vote. We would also advise them not to wait until the last minute, but instead to come forward as soon as they possibly can,” said the Chief Electoral Officer, Manuella Amesbury.

To complete the registration, individuals must present the following supporting documents namely a valid National Identity Card, a valid passport, a valid travel itinerary, medical documents if applicable, official approval documents from the place of employment if travelling on official mission and any other relevant supporting documents to facilitate the registration process.
