In today’s special page, we will be focusing on the Seychelles Institute of Art and Design whose core mandate is to train and prepare learners to meet the evolving demands of the creative and cultural industries in Seychelles. It aims to foster employment opportunities and promote innovative, critical thinking within the sector.

The institution, located at Anse Royale, provides full-time Certificate and Diploma programmes designed to equip learners with the knowledge, practical skills, and creative mindset essential for success in the creative sector, with a strong focus on visual arts. In addition, the Seychelles Institute of Art and Design (SIAD) offers a variety of short courses catering to individuals who wish to enhance existing skills or explore new learning opportunities.

Currently, SIAD has a full-time enrolment of 94 learners and a dedicated team of 29 staff members, comprising both teaching and support staff. Seychelles NATION spoke to its director, Christine Chetty Payet.
