LWMA completes fourth barging operation of scrap metal on La Digue

Following the successful completion of the fourth scrap metal barging operation from La Digue to Mahé in March, additional scrap continues to arrive, causing the dumping site at L’Union Estate to pile up once again – a worrying sign, according to the management.

Speaking to Seychelles NATION, chief executive of L’Union Estate, Loncey Micock expressed concern over the alarming rate at which scrap metals and other debris are being dumped at the site following recent clean-up efforts, warning that because of its status as a tourist attraction, another clean-up may soon be necessary.
