Seychelles, Madagascar to boost cooperation through the signing of general cooperation agreement

Seychelles’ Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism Sylvestre Radegonde and the Minister for Foreign Affairs of Madagascar, Rafaravavitafika Rasata signed a general cooperation agreement between the governments of the two countries last Thursday at Maison Quéau de Quinssy.

The signing of the general cooperation agreement (GCA) aims to foster collaboration across various sectors of mutual interest between Seychelles and Madagascar, namely culture, trade, investment, education, transport, healthcare, fisheries, amongst others. The signature represents the political will of both governments to strengthen their partnership and to work together towards achieving common goals, and subsequently bringing benefits to citizens in their respective countries.

It is important to note that the signing of the agreement was done on the sidelines of Minister Rasata’s visit to Seychelles on the occasion of the 39th Ordinary Session of the Council of Ministers of the Indian Ocean Commission which was held in Victoria on April 15 and 16, 2025.
