National Assembly to welcome new member of 7th cohort |21 February 2025

The National Assembly is set to welcome a new member of the 7th cohort. Cecile Larsen will swear in on Thursday February 27, 2025, during the opening ceremony of the National Assembly, and is replacing Hon. Rachel Spiro as a new proportionately elected member for United Seychelles.

This will be done in accordance with Article 81 of the Constitution which prescribes that a member may cease to be a member of the National Assembly and that the seat occupied by that person shall become vacant, and in this case by the political party nominating another person to occupy the seat by informing the Speaker in writing.

The official biography and photograph of the incoming member will be disseminated in due course.
