Seychelles Breweries adopts Anse Bazarka

Signing of the MoU

Seychelles Breweries has signed a memorandum of understanding with the Marine Conservation Society of Seychelles (MCSS) for the adoption and protection of Anse Bazarka, popular for turtle nesting.

The signing by the managing director of Seychelles Breweries Ltd, Yvonne Mwangi and Vanessa Didon, the project leader of the MCSS, took place yesterday morning on site, in the presence of some staff of the Seychelles Breweries.

It shows the company’s renewed commitment towards MCSS’ sea turtle conservation work on the proposed Seasonal Protected Area, for another three years.

The two organisations have been conducting various rehabilitating projects as part of a programme  dubbed ‘Adopt a Beach,’ under the Slow Turtle Cider brand and for the past three seasons, 2023-2024 included, Anse Bazarka, as their adopted beach of choice, has been the focus of activities.

Ms Mwangi expressed how she was very happy with how the activities in the southern part of Mahé were going and it was Seychelles Breweries’ goal as a company to contribute towards the conservation of the environment. The agreement will be for a three-year period.

Yesterday’s activity at Anse Bazarka also included tree planting on the beach by some women from Seychelles Breweries to coincide with the International Women’s Day and with the relaunch of its Slow Turtle Cider, which was served among the guests.
