SIB unveils commemorative logo for 20th anniversary celebration

The new logo

The Seychelles Investment Board (SIB) yesterday afternoon unveiled a commemorative logo for its 20thanniversary celebration.

It was the Minister for Investment, Entrepreneurship and Industry, Devika Vidot, and the chief executive of SIB, Anne Rosette, who had the honour of unveiling the logo in a short ceremony held at the National Museum of History, Victoria.

Present at the short ceremony were the principal secretary for Investment, Entrepreneurship and Industry, Michael Nalletamby and staff from the ministry and SIB.

In an interview with the media, Ms Rosette explained that the unveiling of the logo was part of activities organised by the board, leading up to SIB’s anniversary celebration on July 1, 2024.

She noted the logo is not replacing the current one but will be used only to commemorate the anniversary celebration.

Other upcoming activities include engagement with the public, the private sector, partners and stakeholders in various ministries, such as forums, that will take place throughout the year.

Ms Rosette said SIB is involved in a lot of activities and projects being promoted in the Sustainable Development Goals (SDG) Investor Map launched by government to encourage development and investment in various sectors.

“We are continuing with that, we are also involved in the districts. There will be activities going there as well and a lot more to come.”

Earlier in her opening welcoming remarks, Ms Rosette, who thanked the SIB staff for their devotion towards the organisation and the ministry for its support, said the activities planned will make the board more visible.

“I hope that the activities will help valorise the role of SIB and for the members of the public to understand its importance as a government entity,” said Ms Rosette, who set the scene for the big celebration in July.

In her closing remarks, Minister Vidot said the 20 years’ celebration of SIB signifies 20 years of service, partnership and 20 years of guiding investment into the country and supporting different sectors of the economy to grow and prosper.

She noted that the phenomenal team spirit anchored from within SIB and the ministry has helped the organisation to go over and beyond expectations in achieving success for the country.

Minister Vidot stated that given the important role played by the staff to continue to achieve success, a lot of emphasis will be placed this year on training and capacity building, which will also include country-to-country exchanges that will further help to elevate SIB’s status to the next level as an investment promotion agency.

“On the part of President Wavel Ramkalawan, the entire government and on my personal behalf, I would like say a big to thank you to all SIB staff, past and current, who in one way or another has contributed to SIB’s 20 years of accomplishment which we are celebrating,” Minister Vidot said.

SIB was established on July 1, 2004, and its role is to promote and facilitate local and foreign investments.
