Norbert Dogley retains Seychelles handball’s hot seat

After serving for 22 years, Norbert Dogley has been trusted with another four years as chairman of the Seychelles Handball Federation, following the annual general meeting held last Saturday at the Victoria Gymnasium.

Mr Dogley was first elected as chairman in 2002, and will be serving his ninth mandate which was previously two years, before being adjusted to four.

It is also worth mentioning that since last year, Mr Dogley is the president of zone 7 region of the African Handball Confederation.

Other than Mr Dogley, the Seychelles Handball Federation (SHF) executive committee is made up of vice-chairperson (a newly created post) May-Rose Sinon, treasurer Marie-Claire Damoo, secretary Stephanie Rigodon who replaces Jacqueline Bastienne, while the ordinary members are Williana Dubois, Tony Hortère, Colvy Underwood, Gerard Malbrook, and Ria Estico.

Speaking to Sports NATION, Mr Dogley said his main priority during his new mandate is to find a designated or permanent space for handball, in terms of competition venue and training ground, but most of all to carry out the SHF youth development programme.

He explained that all they need is a piece of land, while all funding for the project, in terms of infrastructure will come from their parent organisation.

Mr Dogley said they have already identified several potential location and they are now awaiting discussions which they hope will lead to agreement in securing a piece of land for the project.
