FTC raises alert on recall of BLENDJET 2 |13 January 2024

207 units have been distributed to Seychelles

 

The Fair Trading Commission (FTC) is alerting members of the public that the BlendJet Inc., a Delaware corporation with offices at 535 Getty Court, Suite A, Benicia, CA 94510, has announced a recall of BLENDJET 2. This is a portable blender with a compact lithium-ion battery which is rechargeable with a USB cable.

The BlendJet Inc. has disclosed that these blenders can overheat or catch fire, and the blender blades can break off, posing fire and laceration hazards to consumers.

These defected blenders were marked from October 2020 to November 2023 and were among the batches with serial number where the first four digits are between 5201-5542. The units that may be subject to this recall are between the following serial numbers: 5201000000 and 5542999999.

Consumers are requested to check whether their portable blenders fall within the serial range provided by entering their full serial number into the specific landing page to confirm that their portable blender is included in the recall https://www.blendjet.com/safety.

Serial numbers are printed on the bottom of the base along with ‘blendjet2’ and ‘The Original Portable Blender’.

These products were sold online and BlendJet Inc. has recorded that 207 units have been distributed to Seychelles. Most clients bought the portable blender directly from BlendJetonline and BlendJet customer services will contact them directly to replace the base unit free of charge.
