Kempinski Seychelles Resort unveils transformation after renovations

Kempinski Seychelles Resort recently unveiled a stunning transformation aimed at enhancing guest experience, following an extensive two-year renovation period.

The refurbishments extend across the whole property, encompassing rooms, dining experiences, conference facilities and recreational areas.

In addition to redesigning every room and suite, the resort has introduced new categories of family rooms, to cater to the evolving needs of families visiting Seychelles. The resort’s restaurants and bars have also been transformed, ensuring that guests have a delightful experience, tailored to their preferences.

Café Lazare, the resort's premier dining establishment, now offers nightly-themed experiences, taking guests on an unforgettable culinary journey. ‘Windsong’, the property’s chic beach restaurant offering a delectable array of seafood, sushi, and traditional Creole delicacies, has been recognised as one of the best in Seychelles.

A first-of-its kind sensory, French fine-dining experience in Seychelles, Le Petit Chef, officially opened at the resort on December 15, 2023. The innovative concept which combines gastronomy and sophisticated indoor 3D cinema technology makes for a unique and immersive gourmet experience.

To cater to the needs of its business clients, the resort's conference room, Salon Quincy, is now equipped with the latest technology, making it the ideal venue for meetings on Mahé. Lemongrass, an intimate meeting room, is also available as an option.

For the wellness and self-care enthusiasts, the refurbished gym now boasts state-of-the-art equipment, while Kempinski The Spa introduces a new menu with locally sourced products, to rejuvenate the mind and body.

In addition to the physical transformations, the resort now offers a range of experiences for guests to immerse themselves in the Seychellois culture. From the coconut show to traditional ‘moutya’ dance performances, guests can engage in the vibrant local traditions.  Additionally, exciting cocktail-making and cooking classes provide a hands-on opportunity to master the art of Seychellois cuisine, including the famous octopus coconut curry.

General Manager, Oliver Kuhn, affirmed the establishment’s devotion towards a pleasant and comfortable environment where both guests, and staff feel content and relaxed.

“Our goal has always been to create a home away from home for both our valued guests and employees. We have taken great care to preserve the natural elements of our surroundings throughout the renovation process while introducing new experiences that allow our guests to take a  piece of Seychelles with them when they leave,” Mr Kuhn stated.

In its ongoing commitment to environmental sustainability, the resort has marked a significant achievement. Kempinski Seychelles Resort was in November bestowed with EarthCheck’s prestigious Gold Certification, making it a leader among global sustainable tourism operators.

EarthCheck, recognised as the leading authority in certification, consulting, and advisory services for sustainable destinations and tourism organisations, employs a comprehensive certification process that rigorously assesses key performance areas. In order to attain the certification, Kempinski Seychelles Resort underwent a detailed evaluation. The resort was evaluated on various detailed factors, including energy and water consumption, waste management, carbon footprint, and community involvement. Notably, the resort excelled in three pivotal sustainability categories; conservation, water, and solar energy initiatives.

The resort has taken significant steps towards sustainability, including the installation of solar panels for renewable energy, and efforts to bottle its own water, reducing its environmental footprint.
