Seychellois international speaker, business woman, evangelist travels the world to spread Love and the Gospel

Ermatic on one of her missions

Seychellois Ermatic has for most of her life been in the spotlight. As a young entertainer with a powerful voice and an ability to captivate her audience, she once toured the world to entertain others as a singer, model and actress.

However, the talented songstress would go from living the dream, to desperation, despair and depression, as life took a turn for the worse. Hitting rock bottom and on the verge of suicide on a cliffside in Jamaica, Ermatic discovered her renewed purpose and calling; to serve God and touch the hearts and lives of many.

Seychelles NATION had a chat with Ermatic, and founder and president of the Global Ministries Agency (GMA) elder Donovan Beersingh, her mentor and spiritual father.

From the tender age of 16, Ermatic, then known as Roxanne, sang with the Nightshades band, through which she gained popularity. The young talent was soon noticed by a wealthy, influential international entrepreneur, the stepping stone to a life of travels, fame and luxury. The young star was living her wildest dreams, singing at prestigious events, and modelling for global brands, such as Pantene and Panasonic.

At merely 22 years old, she had already travelled to 53 countries, including some of the world’s most exclusive locations, the likes of Monaco, Beverly Hills, California and Singapore.

After getting married, Ermatic would in 2003 move to Jamaica to settle down with her now deceased husband and young son. Paradise would soon turn ugly as her alcoholic husband became increasingly abusive, physically and emotionally. Feeling helpless and depressed, Ermatic found her escape – a Swarovski crystal design business. The business became an overnight success, earning her the title of the ‘bling queen’ in Jamaica and the Caribbean.

The worse was yet to come, as in 2012, Ermatic’s husband of 17 years would up and disappear with their son without a trace. Erma would not embrace her son again for over a decade. Buckling under the pressure of being homeless and financially broke and living in her truck, she became depressed and suicidal. After three failed attempts to end her life, she finally drove up a cliff with her second son, who was born out of an affair and only three years old at the time, her only thoughts were to end it all, and to take him along with her.

“I held my son’s hand and said ‘Baby, we are going to die’”.

“I had my truck for several years and it had never failed me. But that day, the truck failed, but God never failed me. When I started the truck to drive off the cliff, it never started. I was so angry, and feeling the pain of it all, how I would never see my family in Seychelles again. But, this is where I found God, where I found my saviour living a life in the wilderness. I never fear for my life. I knew I needed the strength of God to survive this. At that moment, I asked God to help me out of the situation, to survive in the country alone. I repented and asked for forgiveness, and I cried so hard. Forty-five minutes later when I click start the vehicle again, it started.”

Recounting the experience, she recalls feeling an overwhelming sense of peace and calm. At that point she began to forge a new journey, making it her mission to encourage many to never give up. That there’s hope in God.

Through her non-profit organisation ‘God and Me Kingdom Fund’, she has touched countless lives around the world. Ermatic ministers through activities such as organising food programmes for the disadvantaged, working with orphans in Jamaica and Africa, prison outreach programmes, and working with refugees, Jamaica police force for domestic violence, children’s advocate, at-risk youths, drug addiction, the homeless, mental illness.

Through her organisation, she has formed an orphanage in Africa caring for some 100 orphans.

The boldly confident, resilient and tireless woman is particularly committed to helping and empowering women in vulnerable situations, such as prostitutes, abuse victims, those engaged in a life of crime, as well as those who are on the brink of suicide.

From her ministry home comprising nine rooms, Ermatic offers counselling, shelter and support to those in need, and the desperate and hopeless. Ermatic works alongside her spiritual father, Elder Beersingh.

Additionally, she is also the chief executive of her construction business Art 2 Decore.

“I think it is such an amazing thing to be able to make changes in people's lives”.

Ermatic and  Elder Beersingh arrived in Seychelles on December 22, 2023. They are due to leave Seychelles and continue their journey in the USA and across the nations.

Having not set foot in Seychelles for two decades, Ermatic said she was led to buy a Seychelles flag in November 2022, although she did not quite understand why at the time. Praying over it, her purpose in Seychelles started to become evident, rekindling her connection with Seychelles. Through her online platform on Facebook (Erma Tic), many Seychellois people reached out to her, and she started to minister to them. Today, she has amassed quite a local following.

By March 2023, God ordained her to go on her masters assignments in Seychelles before the end of the year, she said. She started to pray over it, along with her global intercessors and team members, and by November, things started to fall into place for the journey.

Elder Beersingh and Ermatic have been welcomed back to Seychelles by Apostle Jude Fred of the Everlasting Love Ministry. Since their arrival, they have met President Wavel Ramkalawan at the State House, visited local communities, and met a number of families.

Ermatic wishes to pass on a message for the people of Seychelles. She strongly encourages each individual to repent and to seek a personal relationship with God and to find their purpose in life…

This is not about Religion. “It’s your personal relationship with God. We have come here to plant the seeds. We have come to deliver the message, and tell Seychelles Jesus loves them and to turn to him for their problems and difficulties.

“The same message applies for church leaders and political leaders in Seychelles,” she concluded.
