Jean-Michel Vidot, founder of the popular Kilo Game exercise group, has presented 200 free vouchers to the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Family to distribute with staff and the general public.

This entails free sessions throughout the month of January at Kilo Games’ different training grounds, namely Anse Boileau, Persévérance, Beau Vallon, Au Cap, Praslin, Pointe Larue, Victoria, Belonie school, and Roche Caïman.

To help distribute the vouchers and to entice the general public to also think of choosing a healthier lifestyle next year, Youth, Sports and Family Minister Marie-Celine Zialor and a team from her ministry took part in a Kilo Game session on Wednesday December 27 at the Persévérance primary school where she also highlighted the national obesity campaign to take on a healthy challenge for the new year.

In an interview with the media, Kilo Games founder Vidot said since the launch of the national obesity campaign he appreciates that they have a major role to play in the campaign as they have been tackling obesity for over three years.

He also mentioned that they are proud to contribute towards the objective of reducing obesity in the country. He added that Kilo Games has its members but since we are in the holiday season he thought of offering a first step to those who would like to join them and also help the Ministry of Youth, Sports and Family in its obesity campaign.

“We do mostly cardio exercises and the community is very engaging whereby members help each other and provide tips via our WhatsApp groups. There are lots of other groups who promote fitness and physique but we mainly focus on weight loss,” said Vidot.

Kilo Games currently has approximately 300 members and its founder Vidot said the number might rise in January.

Speaking to the media, Minister for Sports, Youth and Family Marie-Celine Zialor mentioned that were approached by Jean-Michel Vidot to assist Kilo Game in promoting their vouchers for free sessions during the whole month of January.

She added that the ministry has previously collaborated with Vidot whereby last year they went to different districts to raise the inhabitants’ awareness on different places where they can do exercises for weight loss.

“As a gift for this holidays he offered the ministry 200 vouchers to be given out to the public in general for a whole month free access to Kilo Game training sessions,” said Minister Zialor. She concluded by saying that the ministry applauds and recognises such gestures.
