Amigos remembers Ken Marie   |18 November 2023

 

  •           Country and western musical show set for next weekend

 

The Amigos are back with another one of their highly popular Country & Western musical shows, which will be held on Saturday, November 25 at the ICCS.

The date is the birthday of former founder and band member of Amigos band, lead guitarist Ken Marie who passed away in August last year aged 70.

The last show after his passing was in June 2023 and was full house. 

According to the organisers, the upcoming show is sure to deliver quality music for the whole family during this festive season.

The audience will be treated to the timeless classics of Don Williams, Dolly Parton, Shania Twain, Neil Diamond, Alan Jackson, as well as some other popular easy listening classics with performances by 17 talented singers who are bound to amaze them with emotional ballads and foot tapping singalongs.

The male singers will include talented Anthony Venticadoo, Pat Nanty, Javier Rose, Barry Gertrude, Walter Alton, Enrico Gonzalves, Patrick Rogan, Michel Belle, Marius Lesperance and Mike Anacoura, while the female talents are Octavie Prosper, Sophie Morgan, Danielle Morel, Maria Chang Sam and Angelle Savy.

They will be accompanied by talented musicians namely Frank Volcère, Lambert Woodcock, Danny Marie, Anthony Houareau, Kidd Pool, and Guy Santache as well as Chelsy Ah-Time and Anna Rose as backing vocalists.

The crowd is also expected to be amazed by the incredible skills of violinist Sajatha and saxophonist France Tamboo. Throughout the night the crowd will be in the capable hands of entertainer Sylvie Ah-Time as MC.

The audience will be treated to a two and a half hour performance and tickets are on sale at R225 apiece and can be purchased with band members or at Camion Hall.
