Ruger show tonight expected to be sold out

Ruger raring to go

Popular Nigerian Afrobeat star Ruger will be taking to the stage tonight for an exciting and much-anticipated concert at the Mini Stadium.

Ruger, whose real name is Michael Adebayo Olayinka, arrived on board the Kenya Airways flight on Wednesday evening, along with DJ Neptune, who will be backing him as he rocks local audiences and the stage.

He was welcomed at the Seychelles International Airport by the organisers, comprising Trence Bartending Services, Veuve Productions, Marketing Guru, Seychelles Breweries Limited and Pure FM.

“I didn’t expect this kind of reception when I came. It was really nice and this country is really beautiful. I cannot wait to showcase what I’ve got to the people here,” singer and songwriter Ruger stated upon setting foot on the island.

Sending a message to his fans, an excited Ruger said: “I love you guys so much, and I cannot wait to see you”.

Tickets for the show have been on sale for the past couple of weeks, and organisers expect that it will be sold out by the time of the concert, considering the venue’s capacity.

In fact, VIP tickets, priced at R1,000 have already been sold out.

“We initially had planned for 250 people in VIP, but then we extended to 300 and then to 400, all of which have been sold,” Terrence of Trence Bartending Services noted.

Normal tickets are still available at R300 at Dara’s Plus and Royalty Streetwear, and if left, will be on sale at R350 at the gate.

In total, the show is expected to last at least three hours, including the line-up of local artists. The show will start as from 7pm, with performances by Mercenary, Jahkim, Gunz and Aslan before Ruger and DJ Neptune make an appearance to belt out his tunes.

Also present will be DJ Giovani, DJ Big 1 and DJ Not Nyce.

Nigerian artist Ruger shot to fame in 2021 with his song ‘Bounce’ from his debut EP Pandemic. He is signed to Jonzing World Record and has since gained popularity for other tunes, including Bounce, Mona Lisa, Abu Dhabi and Bow.
