Julita Jeremie, the country human resource director for Hilton Seychelles, said the competition is held on a yearly basis with the aim to bring staff of all the four Hiltons in Seychelles together. “It was quite challenging as we are a hotel chain and we had to work around operations, with collaboration of the human resource departments and the general managers,” she remarked.

Among the 10 contestants were eight females and two males. They had the opportunity to introduce themselves, say in which hotel they work, in which field and why they joined the Hilton hotels.

Each contestant showcased their casual wear, the popular evening wear, their talents which ranged mostly from singing and dancing to answering two questions each.

Mr Hilton, Darren Meme, also won the best evening wear and People’s Choice in the male category as well as Mr Talent.

“I was not expecting it. I had no one there with me except for the Hilton group, I feel very proud,” said the newly crowned Mr Hilton.

Miss Hilton, Aranta Alcindor, was also very emotional but she noted that; “I am very proud, we are all winners. Some of us lacked confidence and I came with the theme of promoting young single mothers. I will continue to promote it.”
