Visitor Victoria Weigh won the women’s category

Jaomarao and Victoria Weigh dominate the Silhouette challenge

 

Gerald Jaomarao and Victoria Weigh are the grand winners of the recently-held silhouette 10km challenge, gathering over 50 athletes and enthusiasts of all ages who competed in different categories.

The event was jointly organised by the Hilton Seychelles Labriz Resort and Spa, the Seychelles Challenge and Outward Bounds Association (Scoba), the community, leisure and sports for all within the National Sports Council (NSC), with the support of Seypearl.

The 10km challenge was divided into four categories, namely the men’s and women’s categories, as well as senior men and women.

In the men’s category, Jaomarao clocked 41.19 seconds to complete the race first, finishing in front of Njube Bernard who was second overall in 43.41, while Andre Relaza finished third 44.54.

In the women’s race, visitor Weigh finished first in 48.9, pushing Maggy Harray into second position in 53.17, while Brenda Larue finished third in 53.18.

Veteran female runner Jenna Valentin was the winner of the senior women category, completing the challenge in one hour and 26 minutes (1hr 26.00).

In the men’s category, the grand winner was Basil Gendron who completed the race in 1hr 26.

The winners received their prizes from the resort’s operations manager Vanessa Albest.
