Rotary Club of Victoria Coco De Mer has new leadership

The Rotary Club of Victoria Coco De Mer has a new leadership after outgoing President Lucile De Comarmond handed over the baton to incoming President Wellington Manjengwa during an elegant installation dinner at the Savoy Resort & Spa on July 16, 2022.

The ceremony was held to install the new President and President elect for the year 2022-2023 in the presence of more than 70 fellow Rotarians and guests who had the privilege of witnessing this key moment in the Rotary year.

The outgoing president Ms De Comarmond delivered a very inspiring speech highlighting the club’s achievements and community initiatives during the past year demonstrating her and her board’s commitment to advancing the club’s mission of providing service to others riding on their motto of ‘Service above Self’.

Outgoing President De Comarmond is an active humanitarian who did an amazing job leading the club in a year that was very challenging. Some of the key achievements included the donation of a water harvesting system to Grande Anse Praslin school, supporting the Foyer De Nazareth orphanage with various materials and monthly visits by club members among other ongoing community initiatives.

In his acceptance speech President Manjengwa expressed his gratitude for the opportunity to be the 10th President of the club and invited all present to identify opportunities of service and to partner with the club to help develop ‘a community that cares’.

He encouraged members to inspire the community with their service and presence so they will encourage others to join the Rotary Club of Victoria Coco De Mer.

He outlined the club’s interest in working with communities in personal, professional and economic development at all stages of life.

He also mentioned the need to work with communities to save our environment, thus the club will work with partners on initiatives to protect and save our environment which is an important part of the Seychelles landscape.

Mr Manjengwa is a financial services professional who has extensive experience in the financial services sector. He is well known for his keen interest in professional, personal and economic development. He is recognised for his weekly radio spot, The Well of Inspiration, which offers nuggets of wisdom and purpose which may often be forgotten in our daily lives. He is also an author, speaker and executive coach.
