Addressing the guests, Mr Neiland shared a brief history of the well loved and appreciated drink in the country which was launched on September 10, 1972.

“I am very passionate that we should curate and record the history of the brewery through the years. There are many stories and anecdotes about the memories that connect our brand to special moments in the lives of Seychellois,” said Mr Neiland.

He thanked all the workers, customers and partners over the years who have supported the company from the start.

To recognise the achievement of the company over the 50 years, he announced that the board has approved to release a special dividend payment to their shareholders totalling an amount of R50 million.

Mr Neiland spoke proudly of all the achievements and progress the company has made over the years, saying that Seychelles Breweries has never been stronger, and that he is looking forward to another 50 years of success in supporting all Seychellois.

In his remarks President Ramkalawan congratulated Seychelles Breweries on its 50th anniversary, noting that Seychelles Breweries can be described as a responsible corporate citizen that pays all its taxes as required.
