3599 active Covid-19 cases, 149 related deaths |28 January 2022

According to figures released by the Ministry of Health yesterday, the number of active cases of Covid-19 in the country presently stands at 3599, and the 7-day rolling average is 294.

The active number of cases on Mahé is 2951, on Praslin there are 453 cases, on La Digue 145 cases while on the other islands there are 50 cases.

The downward trend in daily number of cases that started two weeks ago continues. 

The total number of persons who have died of Covid-19 related illness is now 149.

In order to maintain a downward trend in cases, members of the public are reminded to respect isolation and quarantine instructions and protocols to help prevent further spread.

Everyone eligible is urged to get vaccinated.
