MCB Seychelles hosts Art Splash competition

Children and youth are being invited to take part in the Mauritius Commercial Bank (MCB) Seychelles’ Rupys’ Art Splash competition under the theme ‘The Beauty of Seychelles’.

It is an art contest hosted entirely online and branded under MCB Rupys – a savings account through which clients gain access to a series of benefits as they save for their little ones. Through the competition, MCB Seychelles aims to promote the interest of art among children and the youth of Seychelles and bring out their incredible imagination!

The competition was launched on June 4 and the final submission will be on June 17, 2021. There will be two categories: 1) below 12 years old and 2) between 12 and 17 years old.

The artwork format should be landscape orientation and A4 size. To submit the participant’s work, the parent should create a digital image of the artwork by scanning or taking a photograph of the child’s artwork. The image resolution of the artwork should be at least 1080x1080 pixels and the parent or legal guardian must post the image on MCB Seychelles’ Facebook page with the following hashtags: #PreparZotLavenir, #RupysArtSplash and also send the image to email contact@mcbseychelles.com

The post must be visible to ‘Public’ and images sent through other channels will not be accepted for judging.

The paintings/drawings must have the following information – (a) Title: ‘The Beauty of Seychelles’, (b) MCB Rupys Art Splash and (c) the full name and age of the artist.

Only one entry per child and the artwork must be original and created by the child. No artwork should be taken from the internet, TV, games or books. Any copyrighted work will be automatically disqualified. Parents are requested not to do the painting on behalf of their children and the artworks may include coloured drawings and paintings. No photographical work will be accepted.

Judging will not be based on materials used and submission must be done by the children’s parents or legal guardians.

MCB Seychelles has stressed on the fact that the artworks must not express obscene, defamatory or illegal materials/actions.

For the below 12-year-olds, the winners will be rewarded with a voucher for R3000, the 2nd place will receive R2000 and the 3rd place will receive R1000.

For the category between 12 and 17 year olds, the winners will receive R3000, the 2nd place will win R2000 whereas the 3rd place will win R1000.
