Ambassador-designate of the Sultanate of Oman pays courtesy call on Minister Radegonde

The ambassador-designate of the Sultanate of Oman, Ali bin Abdullah bin Salirn Al Mahmqi, yesterday paid a courtesy call on the Minister for Foreign Affairs and Tourism, Sylvestre Radegonde.

Ambassador Al Mahmqi is expected to present his credentials to President Wavel Ramkalawan this morning at State House, accrediting him as the new non-resident ambassador of the Sultanate of Oman to the Republic of Seychelles.

Minister Radegonde extended a warm welcome to Ambassador Al Mahmqi and congratulated him on his appointment as ambassador to the Republic of Seychelles.

Both parties agreed to strengthen cooperation in various fields such as tourism, the blue economy and fisheries among others.

They also spoke of the interest to increase connectivity between the two countries through their national airlines.

Present at the meeting were principal secretary for Foreign Affairs, Ambassador Vivianne Fock Tave; senior officials of the Foreign Affairs department and Frank Hoareau, honorary consul of the Sultanate of Oman in Seychelles.

Seychelles and the Sultanate of Oman established bilateral relations in 1983.
