Air Seychelles to operate charter flights from Romania to Seychelles
  • First flight from Bucharest set to arrive in Seychelles on Friday, April 30, 2021

Air Seychelles will operate a series of charter flights from Romania’s capital city and most important commercial centre, Bucharest, commencing Friday, April 30, 2021.

The 9-hour flight, to be operated by the airline’s A320neo aircraft with 168 seats, will make an intermediate stop at Cairo International Airport for refuelling before continuing onto Seychelles.

Scheduled until Monday, May 17, 2021, the flights are expected to bring over 500 visitors into Seychelles.

To support tourism and economic growth on the island and to further build the link between Bucharest and Seychelles, the national carrier will also operate additional charter services in August and December on this route.

Remco Althuis, chief executive of Air Seychelles, said: “Since the reopening of Seychelles to the world, visitors have been looking at destinations providing ease of access upon entry for their travel. Seychelles is now becoming an increasingly attractive destination and as the flag carrier, it is important that we seize business opportunities once available to recover and sustain our operations.

“We are pleased to establish the bridge with Romania through the charter opportunities to support tourism, trade and economic development in the Seychelles.”
