National Assembly welcomes new member |01 April 2021
In accordance with Article 81 (1) (h) (i) of the Constitution of Seychelles, Noline Sophola will be swearing in as a new proportionately elected member for the United Seychelles party. She replaces Hon. Chantal Ghislain.
Article 81 prescribes that a member may cease to be a member of the National Assembly and that the seat occupied by that person shall become vacant, and in this case by the political party nominating another person to occupy the seat by informing the Speaker in writing.
Mrs Sophola will be sworn in today, Thursday April 1, 2021 at 9am.
The House will take a 15-minute break after the swearing in ceremony and will resume debates in committee stage for the Budget 2021.
