Lions Club makes donation of wheelchairs

The presentation ceremony

The district officer for diabetes region E, Lion Dr Sasi Kumar and the club president Lion Reggie Jayasena have handed over a donation of 10 wheelchairs to the diabetic patients of Mahé, Praslin and La Digue.

A total of 10 health centres on Mahé, Praslin and La Digue received the wheelchairs which have cost about US $1,500.

The district officer for diabetes mentioned that the scope of the donation was to identify how the Lions in Seychelles could reach to the needed ones during this pandemic as per their motto ‘Reach out to serve’.

He also said that the wheelchair donation is far enough to meet the needs of the people affected by diabetes at the health centres level.

The event was graced by Health Care Agency (HCA) chief executive, Dr Danny Louange and his deputy Kathleen Cecile, nurse manager of the English River health centre May Malcouzane, Lion members and staff of other health centres.
