55 new cases and another death
Fifty-five (55) new cases of Covid-19 were recorded since the last update bringing the total number of cases registered in Seychelles to 3,087, while another death was logged bringing the number to 16.
Twenty (20) of the samples were from March 10 and 32 from March 9, 2021 and 3 are from pending samples.
Sixteen (16) cases met discharge criteria yesterday and have been discharged into convalescence.
Investigations show that a nonagenarian (person above 90 years old) with underlying medical conditions died from Covid-19 related illnesses three days after admission.
Everyone is advised to continue practice the different measures to stop the spread of COVID-19. Keep interactions to immediate households (the persons you live with) only and to not gather in crowds. Other measures to follow:
• Wear a mask in public places and where physical distancing cannot be maintained
• Practise hand hygiene regularly
• Avoid gatherings and crowds
• Avoid sharing objects
• Practise physical distancing of more than 1 metre.
