Banks, SCU and DBS to resume normal opening hours on weekdays |05 March 2021

The Central Bank of Seychelles (CBS), following discussions with the Seychelles Bankers Association (SBA), has given approval for all banks, the Seychelles Credit Union (SCU) and Development Bank of Seychelles (DBS) to resume their 8.30am to 2.30pm opening hours from Monday to Friday. This will take effect on Monday March 8, 2021 and is applicable to all branches.

The decision follows new measures announced by the Ministry of Health, where more businesses are being allowed to reopen subject to having the proper standard operating procedures in place and the endorsement of the health authorities.

The banks, SCU and DBS will remain closed on Saturdays.

The banks will be ensuring the availability of alternate banking services such as digital channels, Automated Teller Machines (ATMs), Point of Sale (POS) terminals and night safe facilities.

The public is also being encouraged to continue making use of these facilities as part of efforts to prevent long queues and limit physical interactions.

The public is also being encouraged to continue to adhere to the health guidelines and to adopt good hygiene practices such as regular washing of hands and use of sanitisers after using cash or digital payment facilities, as well as the wearing of masks and observing physical distancing measures at all times.

The CBS and SBA will be closely monitoring the situation and remain attentive to any measures announced by the Ministry of Health to ensure that appropriate actions are taken and communicated to the general public.
