Valentine’s Day in confinement! |13 February 2021
Valentine’s Day! A day which I personally do not give much thought about but which is celebrated by many. Each year on February 14, people of different ages exchange cards, chocolates, flowers and gifts with their special ‘Valentine’. For the first time, Seychelles will this year celebrate Valentine’s Day under restrictions. Good news for some and bad news for others. Let’s see what our readers will do this Sunday on Valentine’s Day!
Anonymous: I have been single for a while and 2020/21 has not been easy, so I’ve decided to order roses for myself, I will prepare my favourite meal and wine and enjoy!
Petrina Louis: For me and my husband, we don't usually celebrate Valentine's... We usually go to my mum's place, have a small dinner and wine.. This time we'll be home and we haven’t planned anything special except a chicken coconut curry for Sunday lunch.
Mawess Gabriel: We’re a family of three. We’re having food delivered. Buying gifts from Facebook posts and having them delivered. Then having a very lazy day.
Christel Vital: Will be with my entourage – my son and parents. I have already ordered some sweet treats for us. Family first.
Pre Sheila: We’re planning to do a three-course meal for the family that day. Making it look special for that day. One big happy Valentine’s Day with the five of us in the house.
Claudette William: I've been single for almost 1 year now and I'm going to spend Valentine’s Day with my mum. I’ll prepare a lovely lunch and some desserts. Enjoying chocolates and cakes.
Chantal Lucas Havelock: We are staying at home, enjoying this Valentine with a special lunch, eating cake, watching movies, spending quality time as a family (we are three).
Suzanne Tirant: Staying home. Preparing a romantic dinner for 4. Myself and my partner and invited my parents to give them a break from the grandchildren they have at home.
Nessa Missy: Well! Well! Well! I am not expecting anything from anyone. In 19 years, I don’t recall having anything special from my partner...Will bake a little cake/cookies for myself & my daughter...This year my focus is on myself and my little minion.
Charlotte Belle: A nice home-made lunch and bubbly with my immediate family.
Esmee Jumeau: Red velvet cupcakes and Gordon Pink Gin. Perfect duo pa vre?
Steven James Rose: Oh well. Mon pou swiv lanmes lo TV as usual. Kwi en pti manze spesyal... en pti diven parey tou le dimans e vwala... enn de pti love songs live and on music system... hoping ki lockdown stays only out of the house. LOL
Jamila Maryam Figaro-Camille: My plans for Valentine’s Day is sleep. Not just because I don’t have a ‘Valentine’, more so because I don’t believe in Valentine’s Day.
Patrick St Pierre: May be it is Valentine every day since the 1st day of lockdown!
Luciana Madeleine: My kids and I will try to bake a chocolate cake on Valentine’s Day. Just want to spend some time together and do something fun... Will be our gift for each other.
Juliette Jackson: For me it will be just me, my husband and my son with a nice lunch/ dinner some wine and of course a nice time at night.
